National Vision is hiring a Sr Lease  Accountant.

The role maintains will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of our organization's lease accounting operations, ensuring compliance with ASC 842 standards. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of lease accounting principles, and proficiency in CoStar lease accounting software. Additionally, the role willl manage fixed asset accounting and be actively involved in ERP system implementation, quarterly ASC 842 accounting disclosures, and ensuring overall compliance in financial documentatio.

What Would You Do? The Specifics.

• Maintain and update lease accounting records in CoStar, including the preparation of lease schedules and entries in accordance with ASC 842.

• Review and analyze new lease agreements to ensure accurate classification, measurement, and recognition of lease assets and liabilities using CoStar.

• Collaborate with the legal and procurement teams to interpret lease terms and their financial implications.

• Coordinate with the real estate management team at CW to ensure the accuracy of lease renewal terms in CoStar.

• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly lease accounting reports to management, highlighting key financial metrics and lease obligations, with data managed in CoStar

• Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly ACS 842 accounting disclosure

• Assist the accounting for fixed assets, including CIP, capitalization, depreciation, and disposal.

• Participate in the implementation and optimization of ERP systems, ensuring full integration of CoStar and Oracle, and that the fixed asset accounting modules align with organizational needs and compliance standards.

• Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls related to lease and fixed asset accounting to ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements.

• Provide support during financial audits by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries related to leases and fixed assets, utilizing CoStar and Oracle for data retrieval and analysis.

• Stay updated on changes to lease and fixed asset accounting standards and practices, and advise on the impact of these changes on the organization.

• Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at streamlining lease and fixed asset accounting processes and enhancing system capabilities, with a focus on maximizing the functionality of CoStar and other ERP systems.

Work Experience

• 8+ years progressive accounting experience, 

• 4-6 years ASC 842 lease accounting

• 4-6 years accounting financial reporting systems experience. Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle and Business Objects experience (Peferred)

• Advanced user in Microsoft Excel

• Strong understanding of GAAP requirements

   

Education

• Four year college degree or equivalent experience. resulting in broad knowledge of a field related to the job, such as accounting, marketing, business administration, agriculture etc. (Required)

• CPA Preferred

Licenses, Certifications, Professional Affiliations

• CPA or CMA (Preferred)
